Can Claude make videos?

Not by itself. Anthropic lists text and images as what Claude reads and text as what it writes, so a chat on its own ends with a script. To get a video, Claude needs a tool on the other end. UGCut is that tool for people who film themselves on an iPhone. We tested the other routes in Can Claude edit videos?

What Claude does in UGCut

• Plans your video

  Tell Claude what you sell and where it will post. It writes the hook, the lines and the directions, and the Scenes show up in UGCut with your prompter text in place.

• Sorts your clips

  Filmed a pile of clips first? Tap Ask my agent to sort. Claude reads what you said in each clip and puts the clips into Scenes. Nothing is saved until you tap Make the project.

• Cuts your takes

  Tap Send to my agent on a finished video and tick what Claude may change. It cuts pauses, stumbles and repeated starts, and it never cuts inside a word.

• Handles captions

  Tick captions and Claude can hide them where they cover your product. It never brings back captions you hid yourself.

• Gives you notes

  Ask for a review and Claude sends back up to five notes, such as a line worth a retake or a hook that starts too slow.

• Makes text animations

  Ask for a title or a price tag. Claude builds it on your Mac with UGCut for Mac, and it shows up on your video.

From a chat with Claude to a finished video

1. Connect Claude

   Add UGCut to Claude once. On a Mac it takes about three minutes.

2. Ask for a video

   Say what the video is about, how long it should be and where it will post. A 30-second TikTok, a Reel and a YouTube Short all start the same way.

3. Record on your iPhone

   Your lines scroll on the prompter. Flub one and you retake that Scene, not the whole video.

4. Send it to Claude

   Tap Send to my agent, tick what Claude may change and add a note if you like. Claude does that and nothing else.

5. Export

   Export with captions for TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.

UGC videos with Claude

A brand brief tells you what to say, and the hook decides whether anyone stays. Ask Claude for a few hooks, record the one that sounds like you, and let Claude trim the rest. It keeps your words. It cuts what you said, it doesn't rewrite it.

Claude with UGCut, Claude Code, or a video generator?

• Claude Code with ffmpeg or Remotion

  Claude writes and runs commands on your computer. It pays off for jobs you repeat and for motion graphics, if a terminal does not scare you.

• An AI video generator connected to Claude

  Claude sends a prompt and gets back footage, made-up people included. Useful for b-roll. Not much use when the video needs your face.

• UGCut

  For talking-head and UGC videos you film yourself on an iPhone. Claude plans and trims. You do the part only you can do.

What you need

• An iPhone with iOS 26 or later and the UGCut app.
• Any Claude plan, Free included. Claude Free allows one connector like UGCut, so UGCut takes that slot.
• Claude on the web, on your iPhone or on a Mac. Only text animations need the Claude app for Mac.
• UGCut charges nothing for the connection. It counts as normal Claude chats on your plan.

What Claude never gets

• Your takes stay on your phone. Claude gets a video only when you tap Send on it, and then only a preview of that one video.
• Claude can't post anything for you.
• One tap undoes what Claude changed. You can turn the connection off in UGCut Settings.
