Connect Claude to UGCut

Claude plans your Scenes, cuts your takes and makes text animations for your videos. Set it up once. It takes about 3 minutes on a Mac.

  1. Add UGCut to Claude

    Claude opens. Click Add, sign in to UGCut and click Allow. Use the email you use in the UGCut app.

    Works on every Claude plan. Claude Free lets you add one app like UGCut, so remove another one first if you need to.

  2. Install UGCut for Mac

    Download this file and double-click it. Claude asks once. Click Install.

    You need the Claude app for Mac and macOS 15 or later. Claude shows a warning for every extension like this one. UGCut for Mac keeps your work in Movies, UGCut, and it holds no password.

  3. Start

    Claude opens with your first message typed in. Press Return. When Claude asks to use a tool, click Always allow. Claude checks your Mac, makes your video folder and sends a test title to your phone.

No Mac?

Step 1 is all you need. Then use Claude on the web or on your iPhone. Claude plans your Scenes and cuts your videos. Only text animations need a Mac.

What Claude does

  • Plan your video

    Say what you sell. The Scenes show up in UGCut, ready to record.

  • Cut your takes

    Tap Send to my agent on a video. Claude cuts the pauses and fixes the captions. One tap undoes it.

  • Make text animations

    Ask for a title or a price tag. Claude makes it on your Mac and it shows up on your video.

Safe to try

  • It can't post anything for you.
  • Your takes stay on your phone. Claude gets a video only when you tap Send on it.
  • You can undo its changes, or turn it off in UGCut Settings.

UGCut charges nothing for this. It counts as normal Claude chats on your plan.

If something goes wrong

My Mac says it cannot open the file

Install the Claude app for Mac first, open it once and sign in. Then double-click the file again.

Double-clicking the file does nothing

Open the Claude app, then Settings, Extensions, Advanced settings, Install Extension. Pick the file from your Downloads folder.

Claude says it cannot find UGCut

Go back to step 1 and click Add to Claude. If UGCut is already there, click the + in the chat box and turn UGCut on.

Claude keeps asking for permission

Click Always allow. UGCut cannot post anything, and you can undo what Claude changes.

The phone still says Not connected

You may have signed in with a different email. Remove UGCut in Claude and add it again with the email you use in the app.

Add to Claude did not open the right page

On claude.ai, open Settings or Plugins, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Name it UGCut and paste this link:

I use Claude Code

Do step 1 first. Then paste this into Claude Code. It needs Node.js 18 or later.

Set up UGCut on this Mac. Run these two commands, one at a time, and show me what each one prints. claude plugin marketplace add https://ugcut.com/downloads/marketplace.json claude plugin install ugcut@ugcut If both work, tell me to start a new session and say: set up UGCut.
I use ChatGPT at work

ChatGPT lets only Business, Enterprise and Edu plans add UGCut, and text animations need Claude or Codex on a Mac. On chatgpt.com, open Plugins and click +. Click Add custom MCP server, name it UGCut and paste this link:
